Fleet Problem XVIII began on 1937-Apr-16, ranging from Alaska to Hawaii and Midway. Patrol Squadron VP-6F participated in the second phase for at least two days (1937-Apr-23 and 1937-Apr-24), defending Hawaii from a sudden attack. VP-1F, also based at FAB Pearl Harbor, showed similar activity. The intent of this exercise was to practice the tactics of capturing forward bases.
